GUJARAT IS NOT IN MY AGENDA AT PRESENT; SENIOR OWAISI

BY ABDUL HAFIZ LAKHANI from AHMEDABAD
Close on  the heels of  All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) of Asaduddin Owaisi to contest the Bihar assembly election, some of the Gujarat based newspapers have reported that  Gujarat is also in his radar.Recently About 100 Muslims and Dalits met in sarkhej Area of Ahmedabad and discussed about Owaisi party for upcoming local bodies election in Gujarat which are likely to be held in later part of 2015.

According to reliable sources, some Muslim workers who are with congress are in touch with senior Owasi as they are not happy with congress's anti Muslim policies .Rakhiyal based activist and congress worker says that this is the right time to press panic button for Congress as Congress in the state is being totally tattered due to internal infighting.

.All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen is likely to contest the upcoming civic polls, sources said. This is the first time the party will be contesting an election in the state. Sources said that the AIMIM is eyeing more than five seats in the polls.According to sources, several activists, NGOs and community members who are keen on bringing AIMIM to Gujarat have been in touch with party chief and MP Asaduddin Owaisi  Gujarat has always seen a two-party democracy and a third party usually does not find its entry viable.

But the hype around AIMIM has been cause for anxiety in the political corridors, more so because of the party's radical Islamic views. However, there has not been an official announcement yet in this regard.

In the assembly polls, Congress lost its traditional Jamalpur seat because Muslim leader ship got split into three groups, giving BJP the advantage.Sources said that Owaisi could impress the Muslims here as he is a good orator and serious about working for the community's development.

some Muslims are planning to hold a memorial lecture on Shahid Azmi at Gomtipur a traditional Muslim bastion in the first week coming month.Recently, some Muslims met Owasi at Delhi in this connection.

Sources said MIM may field candidates from Gomtipur, Jamalpur, Behrampura, Dariapur and Danilimda areas that constitute 55-85 per cent Muslims.Owaisi is set to launch the party's campaign in Bihar for the upcoming assembly election in the state.

Meanwhile, This journalist contacted Owaisi  on phone and asked about  this development, he told that he did not  know anything about this political activity. i have not authorised anybody to work for his party.he totally refuted  media report about contesting election in Gujarat in near future,it should reminded that All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi always speaks harshly  PM Modi, Maya kodnani, Babu Bajrangi for 2002 riots of Gujarat.
