Leader of RSS fanatics, master mind of Agra "ghar wapsi" arrested while fleeing to Rajasthan
Nand Kishore Valmiki, who was on the run since he was booked for allegedly luring a group of Muslims into conversion in Agra, reportedly surrendered at the office of Agra SP Tuesday morning.
Police, however, claimed Valmiki, who is a leader of RSS wing Dharma Jagaran Manch, was arrested while he was about to catch a bus for Rajasthan.
Sources said Valmiki could not be produced before the court Tuesday owing to a lawyers’ strike.
Agra SSP Shalabh Mathur said Valmiki would be produced before the court Wednesday and police would seek his custody for a detailed interrogation.
Agra Sadar Circle Officer Aseem Chaudhary said Valmiki was arrested from Eidgah bus station where he was about to board a Rajasthan-bound bus. He added that some other persons, who were with Valmiki, were allowed to go.
Valmiki, who allegedly facilitated the alleged conversion of 57 Muslim families in Ved Nagar locality on December 8, has been booked under under IPC sections 153 (B) (Imputations, assertions prejudicial to national-integration) and 417 and 420 (cheating). A non bailable warrant was also issued against him.
