Those who love spreading hatred; insult Swami Vivekananda

The majority of Jat community in and around Muzaffarnagar, Shamli and Baghpat districts, the scene of unprecedented violent incidences generally swears to be followers of Swami Vivekananda. RSS and BJP also take his name with great reverence. Today is 150th birth anniversary of Shree Vivekananda. All over the country peoples are paying tribute to revered Hindu thinker, philosopher and preacher. Therefore it will be appropriate to revisit his thoughts and ideas in which he predicted salvation for the Nation and strength for the Indians.

Swami ji preached unqualified love, while his so called followers are resorting to the politics of hatred and violence. They are doing this to gain strength. Swami ji rebuffed the idea a century ago and taught otherwise. He said,
To love others, a man needs to be selfless. Only a selfish mind tends to hate others. Swami ji beautifully put the truth in words, “Throughout all religious systems there is one reality, same morality, only one thing is preached, “be unselfish, and love others.”
Explaining Morality, he said, “Why should a man be moral and pure?” and answers, “because this strengthens his will. Everything that strengthens the will, will be reveling the real nature is morality. Everything that does the reverse is immoral.”
Swami ji exhorted, "The enjoyment of advantage over another is privilege, and throughout ages, the aim of morality has been its destruction. This is the work which tends towards sameness, towards unity without destroying variety."
Let us introspect, what is the place of love, selfishness and morality in our politics and approach. Everybody is becoming selfish, even siblings are debunking their parents and killing for minor gains. The destruction of love and selfishness has destroyed our family life and rest of mind. Everybody feels insecure even in the four walls of his house because selfishness and hatred have become rule of the day.
On knowledge and education, Swami Vivekananda said, “It is grand and good to know the laws that govern the planets and stars. It is infinitely grander and better to know the laws that govern the passions, the feelings and the will of mankind.”
Stressing upon character building, he said, “we can convert every house in the country into charity asylum, we may fill the land with hospitals, but the misery of men will still continue until men’s character changes.”
“A nation is advanced in proportion as education and intelligence spreads among the masses. The chief cause of India’s ruin has been monopolising of the whole education and intelligence of the land by dint of pride and royal among a handful of men. if we are to rise above we shall have to spread the education among the masses.”
“The great difficulty in the way of education is that the poor boy would have rather help his family to earn livelihood, and only after that he can come to school.
The crux of his education, according to an analyst, was to bring highest morality to his fellow country man. Essentially killing innocent people destroys morality and notion of love. Those who swore to his name, lit lamps and offer flowers on his portrait, should also learn to love others, to shun selfishness and rise above immoral acts of arson, rape and killings. The political parties, the leaders who instigate people to take revenge from innocent people for the guilt of someone else of their community, are not followers of Shree Swami Vivekananda but worshipers of his opposite soul.
Need of the hour is to spread his universal message of love, tolerance, morality and spread education. With these words on the day of his 150th Anniversary pays him its tributes. The darkness is deep, let us lit a small “diya”, it will show the way to the humanity in the darkness.
